Soul Connect
About
Soul Connect was a part of a 4 project group KHD completed, however this brand was very different from its partners. Soul Connect is taking something that isn’t going away (the digital world) and bringing connection back into it. They are a brand and business that has created an app to allow humans to connect with not only themselves but like-minded individuals. They approached us at KHD for a visual identity, collateral pieces, tone of voice + messaging as well as website design and development.
Challenge
The challenge with Soul Connect arose with making sure we were communicating about a brand that is innovative while still toeing the line of soulful, hippie connection. We wanted to make sure that the website showcased the technological and foreword thinking advancement while also showing how important it is to be empowered and deep thinking. Another challenge was that at the completion of the project the app wasn’t ready and the brand actually needed crowdfunding in order to make it the vision they dreamed of.
Outcome
We approached the challenge of Soul Connects communication by making sure we included a modern feel to fonts, while still pulling into artful pieces like stars and moons to make sure we communicated the message and values of the brand clearly. We also aimed for more bold colorways, to make sure we weren’t getting lost in too much naturalization and losing the innovation of the brand. When it came to the app not being completed, we made sure to include a page about Crowdfunding and how important it was for this business. This project was awesome because of the courage of Soul Connect to do things a bit differently and to change the lives of people everywhere.
